The successful candidate will provide leadership on the design and delivery of an ambitious and cutting edge influencing agenda to leverage change at international and national levels. Having identified energy access as our priority change area the post holder will drive the agenda through close cooperation and coordination with our staff in regional and country offices in Latin America, South Asia and Africa. The role involves engagement with a broad range of stakeholders from high-level UN, European to bilateral donors, civil society and private sector stakeholders.

The role requires strong analytical, representational and interpersonal skills and a post-graduate degree in a relevant subject, knowledge of energy access and several years of experience in international development, including experience working in developing countries.

However, there is some development potential for candidates who do not fully meet all criteria. We encourage experienced policy influencers / advocates who have had no or limited exposure to energy issues to apply as the role provides the opportunity to build the required knowledge base through training on the job.

Equally, the post provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced energy adviser/manager to expand his/her expertise through developing a strong networking and representational profile. There is some scope for flexible working arrangements.
