Nexus is a cooperative of development organizations that support vulnerable communities by scaling up successful climate‐friendly projects. In its communications, Nexus engages with a number of actors:
• Members of the cooperative (through an online forum, direct mailings, webinars and calls)
• Corporate partners (through direct mailings)
• Supporters (through the newsletter and social media)
• Potential members and partners (through conferences and social media)

Duties and Responsibilities
The Communications Manager will have the following duties and responsibilities:

1. External communications
Raise Nexus corporate profile thanks to:
1.1.Traditional, web‐based and social media presence as well as direct mailings to Nexus stakeholders
a) Monitor Nexus’ and other organizations’ activities and identify opportunities for communications
b) Develop and update a planning of media and mailing activities
c) Implement media and mailing activities, including
• Overseeing the development of the quarterly newsletter
• Starting and ensuring a regular presence on social media
• Writing and disseminating press releases
• Enhancing web presence (online registries, forum etc.) and monitor Nexus staff’s
activities on forums
d) Maintain and expand relationships with media
e) Assess impacts of activities
1.2. Publications
a) Oversee the production of reports, including Nexus annual report
b) Support team members to develop publications by proofreading reports, creating templates
and checklists, and providing trainings
1.3. Events
a) Plan and roll out the concept and logistics of Nexus events
b) Secure speaking slots during industry events
1.4.Contact management
a) Oversee the creation and implementation of a CRM system

2. Marketing
2.1. Branding
a) Maintain consistent branding across Nexus communications material
2.2.Update print material
a) With support from a communications agency, update Nexus marketing material (set of brochures and project briefs)
2.3.Update web material
a) With support from a communications agency, conduct the revamp of Nexus websites (www.nexus.org and www.nexusbeyondoffsetting.org)

3. Internal communications activities
3.1.Team building
a) Oversee the planning and implementation of team building activities by the communications assistant
3.2. Intelligence
a) Coordinate business intelligence activities with support from team leaders
4. ManagementofCommunicationsunit
4.1. Strategy
a) Contribute to Nexus strategic direction
b) Conceive, write up and present communications strategies.
c) Conceive, write up and present a yearly work plan and contribute to development of budget
for the Communications unit
4.2.Human resources
a) Supervise and control projects led by the communications team
b) Anticipate human resources needs (plan and manage recruitments)
c) Ensure development of communications staff
Profile

Experience
• Minimum 3 years professional experience within a communications agency or a media team Education
• Degree in Communication, marketing or equivalent

Skills
• Fluent English with excellent writing skills (a writing test will take place during the interview)
• Experience in working with a communications agency
• Interest in social media and web communications
• Proficient in MS Office, including MS Publisher
• Knowledge of energy and climate change issues
