Ashden and 2011 Ashden Award winner, Radian, will present a free half-day master-class, ‘Financing and delivering the retrofit revolution’. With the advancement of the government’s new Green Deal policy and the UK’s legally binding carbon targets, reducing the energy demand of the UK’s housing stock is a critical issue. Ground-breaking organisations are already funding and delivering retrofit programmes at scale and their learning has plenty to contribute to policy and practice.

The event will focus on lessons learned from UK and international programmes successfully delivering housing retrofits. It will look in detail at:

The practicalities of efficient retrofitting (led by Radian and Severn Wye, both 2011 Ashden Award-winners).
The mechanisms that have already been delivered at scale in Europe and are now being adopted in the UK (led by Global Environmental Social Business, experts in international retrofit finance)
The keynote presentation of the day will be given by David Orr, CEO, National Housing Federation on‘Financing domestic retrofit; Green Deal opportunities and barriers’. Delegates will also have the opportunity to meet individually with the experts to discuss their specific issues.

The event takes place on 22 February 2012 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster, London. For the agenda, speaker details and to reserve your free place visit the Event Brite page here.
