PISCES (Policy Innovation Systems for Clean Energy Security) is a new 5-year Energy Research Programme Consortium (RPC) initiative funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DfID) that is aimed at contributing to innovation and providing new policy-relevant knowledge in the energy sector - leading to better practices and ultimately impacts in helping the poor in developing countries.

As part of the tri-annual PISCES meetings, a bioethanol workshop will take place on Friday 17th February 2012. The one-day event will be held in Kisumu, Western Kenya. In attendance will be representatives from the PISCES consortium, as well as sugar companies from the region, research institutions, university staff and NGOs involved in agroforestry, energy and development.
