Nexus, Carbon for Development is a global alliance of social ventures (non-profits, NGOs, and eco-businesses) whose central mission is to reduce climate change while alleviating poverty. It is an integrated carbon services platform for awareness raising, capacity building, carbon project development, and carbon asset management. Nexus is an incorporated non-profit organization in Singapore and based in Phnom Penh, Camdodia. Nexus is supporting Hydrologic during the validation and verification of the project including the execution of the WBT. For more information, please visit the website: www.nexus-c4d.org

Hydrologic is a Social Enterprise established in 2010 as a spin off from International Development Enterprises Cambodia which is a non-governmental organization that has a market-based approach to poverty reduction. For more information, please visit the website: www.hydrologichealth.com

Hydrologic is manufacturing and distributing ceramic water purifiers (CWP) which are an alternative to boiling water for rural households in Cambodia that generally do not have access to safe water. The CWP offers reduced burden on natural rainforests in Cambodia, reduced carbon footprint, improved health for end users from cleaner drinking water and improved indoor air quality due to less boiling taking place. Using less wood means less time spent by poor families and children gathering wood; time that can now be dedicated to education or income generating projects. Furthermore, the money saved by families on fuel expenses, medicines or loss of productivity due to sickness from poor drinking water quality can now be spent on education or new income activities.
